A seer/thief/rogue of doom seems much better suited than a sylph. There aren't necessarily any 'useless' combos but it does seem pretty weak. Like, a sylph of hope or mind would be able to do all the things we're speaking about but better. And obviously a sylph of life is OP as a support player.

Now the elephant in the room here is the Seer of Doom. Now they could prove very helpful being able to predict his team mate's deaths and help them avoid themโฆ but at a possible price. For the Seer to learn about death properly that would most likely require the death of a team mate.

As seers of the doom they could have horrible nightmares at the beginning of their quest, awful images that are actually visions (just like Sollux had, but he was a Mage, the possibly active counterpart of the Seer).they may want to do something to change those destinies, but they have to learn that avoid them is just the better way.

Session 2 is trickier. Whatever Doom they have, the Seer is going to be somewhat aware of it, making it hard to catch them by surprise. As well, the Rogue of Light steals good luck, but unlike Vriska, is likely to distribute it a bit more around, making bad luck harder to justify - especially if guided by the Seer of Doom.
